A short history of nearly everything audiobook reddit. All the while covering important events in the history of our planet and of those extraordinary and some ordinary individuals thanks to whom we are now aware of such events. Science has never been more involving or entertaining. Science has never been more involving or entertaining. A short history of nearly everything is the record of this quest and it is a sometimes profound sometimes funny and always supremely clear and entertaining adventure in the realms of human knowledge as only bill bryson can render it.
Just finished bryson s a short history on nearly everything and wondering how much of the science is out of date or notably expanded upon or proven wrong not sure how many of you have read this book but i loved it. A short history of nearly everything is bill bryson s quest to understand everything that has happened from the big bang to the rise of civilization. Bill bryson takes us on a long journey that starts with the event of singularity and ends on the dawn of 21st century. I didnt even bother with the movie bc the book was so good.
Short history of nearly everything really did get me into reading and enjoying nonfiction. The book is exactly what the title suggests. I also recently read what if by randall munroe xkcd and really enjoyed it. I listened to laura hillenbrand s unbroken on audiobook.
He takes subjects that normally bore the pants off most of us like geology chemistry and particle physics and aims to render them comprehensible to people who have never thought they could be interested in science. The narrator was fantastic and every few minutes i would be like wooooowwwww. Science has never been more involving or entertaining.
